Sales Update 12/2-12/27

Hey everyone! I hope you all have had a very merry Christmas!

I'm sorry I've been gone almost the whole month without a post, December is a super busy month for me. (Not on eBay sadly...) Sales this month have been HORRIBLE! The worst probably so far! I've had $300 in sales, one non-paying buyer, and one return request which I'm dealing with now.. I'm hoping January picks up the pace and gets some after-holiday shoppers in my store! I have around 379 items listed currently, and I'm hoping to get the rest of my stash listed BEFORE January 1st. Now I know this won't happen, but it's good to have some hopes. I need to use my 150 free listings before they run out as well. I think I have 117 left.  So listing is my number one priority these next few days.

Total number of sales: 18
Here's a few of the highlights.

I picked up this NFL-opoly game back in the summer for $2 and it sold for $29.95 +free shipping.

Derek picked up this vintage Apollo workout kit at the Goodwill for $5. It FINALLY sold for $50 +shipping

We also sold our last pair of Firefighter boots for a best offer of $35 +shipping.

Here's another one of the $3 shirts I picked up at a consignment store a while back. It sold for $19.95 +shipping.

That's all for this post! I'm going to try and go package up some sales that I had yesterday and I'll be back next week with another BOLO post! If you'd like to see my other sales, be sure and check out my store HERE. We renamed it last night to "Bluegrass Bargains". ~Thanks mom! Let me know what you think about the new name, and let me know if the store needs any improvements!
Thanks for reading!

A-Z BOLO List Part 2

Hey everyone! I'm back with Part TWO of my BOLO list! This post is letters F-J from my book. Enjoy!

F
Far Side Items: These include coffee mugs, calendars, or anything else you can find by Gary Larson. I've sold quite a few of these for $30+! Check out completed listings HERE
Fiestaware: I've sold quite a few pieces of this too! The rarer colors and stranger pieces sell for more than the more common pieces. You can expect at least $10 a piece for the common colors and up into $50-$100+ for others! Check out completed listings HERE!
Fire King: Always always ALWAYS look for this brand. Most pieces are worth in the $10 range, but some can go for HUNDREDS! If you find one of the advertisement Fire King coffee mugs, don't pass it up! It could be worth a fortune! The jadeite pieces are also popular right now! Check out completed listings HERE!
Flatware: We have all seen, and probably passed on that set of spoons, knives, or forks, at the yard sale. ALWAYS look the pattern name up and see if you get any hits on eBay. If it's cheap enough, I wouldn't even worry about looking them up. You can sell the flatware in sets of dinner forks, spoons, knives etc. or you can sell it as a set. People are always looking for replacement pieces. Check out the completed listings HERE

G
Griswold Cast Iron: This one is a hit or miss, but if it's cheap enough, always pick up any piece you find. You can  make a decent profit. If you ever find a #14 skillet, be sure and mail it directly to me and don't even think about looking it up first ;) Some of those go for hundreds! Check it out HERE!
Globes: Here's another item we've all seen. These are an easy $20-$50 depending upon condition. Click HERE to see the completed listings!

H
Handheld Games: Always keep an eye out for theses. Portable handheld games like Tetris or Poker are very popular and can be worth a pretty penny! Check it out HERE!
Hot Rollers:  These can be found at almost every single garage sale. If you can get them cheap enough, and all the pins and rollers are included they may be worth picking up! Keep an eye out for Clairol and Remington rollers. Completed Listings.
Halloween Costumes: Buy these all year round and start listing them about a month before Halloween. You can pick these up for $1-$3 through out the year and make a killing in October!
Hidden Mickey Duffy Bears: I had never known about these until recently. They are stuffed bears that have the Mickey Mouse face shape. They can be worth $50+. I've yet to find one, but I'll keep looking! Check them out HERE!

I
NONE I have absolutely no items in this section of my book! If you have any, please post them below and they'll be added to this list! The same goes for other letters. All items will be added to the post!

J
Jansport Backpacks: Preferably the vintage leather bottomed bags. I sold one for $20-$30 (I can't remember) I only paid $2 for it! All other Jansport backpacks are good as well, because there is a lifetime warranty available on them! If you fill out a form and mail them to Jansport they will mail you a NEW backpack! -Thanks Aunt Tammy!

That's all for this post everyone! Thanks SO much for reading! I look forward to reading your comments and adding your own BOLO's to our list!!

I'll be back soon!

Sales Update 11/12-12/1

Hey everyone! I'm so sorry I've been missing in action the past little while. Thanksgiving had me super busy and with finals week quickly approaching I've been swamped! I thought I would check in with a few sales I've had since I disappeared.

Sales since last post:
43 Sales
$477.83 before fees

Here's a few of the highlights!

I picked up this Calligrapher's bible for $1 and it sold for $15.95 +free shipping.

This Earth Therapeutics body wrap was given to me and it sold for $34.95 +shipping!
I picked up four textbooks for $0.50 each. This one sold for $45 +shipping! A rule for textbooks. Make sure they are no more than 5 years old or most always they are obsolete and not worth too much.

Here's another costume sale! I picked this Power Rangers costume for $3 at Goodwill. It sold for $19.95 +shipping.

These Fossil boots were picked up by my grandma for $10. They sold at auction for $45 +shipping.

I ran a TON of $2.99 auctions the past few weeks since I had a promotion. I sold quite a few items that I was glad to finally get rid of. I don't do $0.99 auctions, because it's just not worth it. After shipping and fees, you end up losing money. So I always start out at $2.99 + shipping so that my fees are covered and I still make a little.

Stay tuned for my F-J BOLO List Post!!

Thanks for reading everyone!!

My A-Z BOLO List!

Hey everyone! This post isn't a sales update like you were hoping for.. :( Instead, I thought I would post my own personal BOLO list! For those of you that don't already know, BOLO stands for be on the look. So all of these items are a few things you should be looking for at thrift shops and yard sales! This list consists of items. No clothes. I have a separate BOLO list for clothes, and I'll try and get that posted sometime soon. For today though! I will be listing all my hot items from letters A-E.

A
American Girl Dolls: These dolls cost over $100 new. I would know, my sister collects them.. So definitely pick them up if they're in good shape!
ALF Plush: If you don't know who ALF is here's a picture from one of the recent completed listings. This new one sold for $75, but a used one will usually bring anywhere from $30+ in good condition.

B
Breyer Ornaments: These horse ornaments go anywhere from $10-$200.
Beatrix Potter Items: Anything Beatrix Potter sells. A while back I sold a chipped coffee mug and plate for around $20.
Bose Wave Radio: The remotes ALONE go for $30! So if you ever find one of these, be sure and grab it!
Bumbo Baby Seats: I see these all over my Facebook yardsale group. The odd colors, and the ones with trays seem to do the best. They're an EASY $15-$30.
Build a Bear Items: Always keep an eye out for the clothes, and of course the bears! I recently sold a pair of black build-a-bear shoes for $10 that I picked up at the Goodwill Outlet!
Boy Scout Patches: I have seen so many of these! Some people want an arm and a leg for them, but if you can find them for the right price, you've got some money coming in! Remember the older the better! Some go for hundreds!

C
Cross Stitch Kits: Not all resellers know to pick these up! They are an easy $10-$20, and you can pick them up for close to nothing! Sometimes you get lucky though and get a rare kit. I sold one a while back for over $100! Brands to look for: Bucilla, Dimensions GOLD, and anything that looks intricate and difficult to complete. Even it's just the canvas, it WILL sell!
Captain Underpants Books: Always buy them cheap. If you pick up a set for around a quarter a book, you can make a pretty chunk of change! A lot of 11 recently sold for $30!
Caboodle Boxes: The vintage ones go anywhere from $20-$50!
Camp Cucamonga DVD: I know this one is VERY specific and it'll be crazy if we ever stumble upon one, but this DVD sells for around $85!
Charles Wysocki Puzzles: Not all of these are extremely valuable, so be sure and look them up! Some go for over $50!

D
Dept. 56 Christmas Items: I love picking up little items like this for a dollar or less and flipping them for $20+
Dungeons and Dragons Books: These books sell anywhere from $10-$25 each.

E
Easy Bake Ovens: These are always in demand! One model has even been recalled, I can't remember which one, but if you find it, you won't even have to sell it on eBay! You can contact the makers and they'll send you a $30 check!
Easton Z2K Bat: Here's another "what are the odds of finding this?" item! IF you stumble across this specific bat, do NOT hesitate to pick it up!! It goes for hundreds!

That's all for this BOLO list! I hope you've enjoyed! If it's popular enough I'll try and post more of the list this week, and then go on to the clothing BOLO list! If you have anything to add to the list PLEASE comment below!!
Thanks for reading everyone!

Let's Set Some Goals!

The fourth quarter is upon us! I had 5 sales over the weekend, and I'm thinking this is the turn! Holiday shoppers are getting ready for Black Friday Christmas shopping. So don't be discouraged if sales are slow! They will be picking up before you know it!

So let's set some goals! I have a few for myself but I'd love to hear some of your alls goals too! So please comment below what you're hoping to have done before Christmas!

Goal #1 Get everything in my basement researched, measured, photographed, and LISTED! It can't sell if it's just sitting on your shelves unlisted. So my first goal is to list, list, LIST!

Goal #2 Decide if I want to upgrade my store. I currently have the basic store subscription with around 300 items listed and 190 in the unsold section. I never pay for my listings, so I always wait for a promotion to get the old stuff relisted. I use my 150 free to list all new items so my store is constantly drawing in new buyers. I'm not sure if that is the best decision or not because, once again, if it's not listed, it's not selling. So maybe the next level store with 500 free listings would be best for me, so I can keep relisting the old items for free. Any thoughts?

Goal #3 Find a better Goodwill. We went to the Goodwill in Cookeville, TN Friday night and it was so overpriced I couldn't buy anything! I saw a few people with phones out and carts loaded, so maybe that's why I didn't buy anything. Who knows. I also went to the Somerset, KY Goodwill a while back and left empty handed as well! All I know is that I need to find a cheaper Goodwill with less competition. (Which will be impossible I know, but a girl can dream!) Maybe this goal should be to thrift more and beat the competition!

Goal #4 Learn more about buying and selling clothes. The clothes I sell are from family members, or are from cleaning out my own closet. I do buy a few pieces if they're cheap and a brand I recognize like, Talbots, Ralph Lauren, or Vera Bradley (who knew they made clothes?!), but I need to branch out and learn more about which brands sell, what to price them at (because I seem to be pricing WAY too low according to other peoples pricing and sales), and I also need to learn about everything that needs to be measured and put in the listing, so I can promote more sales.

Those are my top 4 eBay related goals. I also have some personal goals that involve finishing this college semester with all As, getting my Christmas shopping done, and a few other things.

I hope you all are having a great week, and please remember to comment your goals below! I'd love to hear about them!!

Sales Update 11/5-11/11

Sorry I'm a day late! Yesterday was packed with listing everything I could and class! I'm back today though! I've had a pretty decent week of sales! I have a total of 401 items listed and I've sold 17 items so far this month. I'm hoping to get my store up to at least 500 items by the end of the year.

Here's the numbers for this week!
Number of items sold: 11
Total amount sold before fees: $223.14

My weeks are getting better!

These Firewalker Ranger boots, sold to a set director for FX! Derek picked them up at the Goodwill for $3 a pair. He bought three pairs, and two sold to the same lady for a grand total of..... $99.90 + $40 shipping!! That's been my biggest sale in a while. These boots weighed 9 pounds per pair. They sold within minutes of listing!

I took a best offer of $12.49 +free shipping on this shirt. Cost: FREE.

I bought this infant snowsuit sometime last year. It FINALLY sold for $14.95 +shipping to Canada! Cost: $2-$3?

This is the first pillowcase sale I've had in a while. This one sold for $14.95 +shipping. Cost: $1.

For some reason Halloween costumes are STILL selling!! This one sold for $9.95 +shipping.

I LOVE finding Vera Bradley to sell. I picked this purse up at the Goodwill outlet, it weighed 13 ounces so it probably cost $0.50. It sold for $29.95 +shipping to a buyer with ZERO feedback... Hoping all goes well with that order!

This is another Goodwill Outlet find! These cassettes sold for $9.95 +shipping.

I also sold two more tubes of Covergirl makeup for $8 +shipping and a Psychology textbook for $23 +shipping within seconds after listing!

I hope you all are having as good a week as I am! I'm going to get back to listing!!

Weekly Sales Update 10/29-11/4

Hey everyone! Sales this week have been slow going, but as soon as the beginning of the month hit, they definitely started to pick up! This week I've had a total of 10 sales totaling $128.02 before fees. I'm pretty happy with that number. I just wish I was making that much a day! I had one incident that was completely my fault. I sold a skirt to a buyer yesterday, and upon packaging it up, I realized the skirt was not navy (as advertised). It was black. I don't know what I was thinking when I placed that listing. I've emailed the buyer and hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.

Here's the 10 items I sold this week!

I'm still selling makeup! This one tube sold for $6.76 on sale.

I don't seem to be one of those people that can sell coffee mugs.. This one mug I've had FOREVER. It sold for $5 +shipping.

Here's another book that came from an auction box lot. It sold for $4.95 +shipping.

This pink build-a-bear sold for $9.95 +shipping. It has a recording of a mans voice in the paw, which I mentioned in the listing. I hope that doesn't cause me any trouble!

This pink Eddie Bauer sweater came from my grandma. It sold on sale for $8.46 +shipping.

Ugly Christmas sweaters STILL SELL!!! This one sold for $29.95 +shipping!

My grandma picked up this metal pitcher at a yard sale to put flowers in it, and upon looking at it, I discovered it was U.S.M.C! Sold for $39.95 +shipping!

This pewter ornament sold for $5 +shipping.

I picked up two of these new with tags J.Khaki dresses. They've both sold! This one sold for $7 +shipping.

I just heard from the lady who bought the skirt and she agreed upon a refund. No harm done thank goodness!

Saturday I'm going to go to the Somerset flea market and check it out. I may be setting up a booth pretty soon!

That's all for this post everyone! I hope you've had a profitable week!

~Nandry

Many thanks to the 10 people that have clicked on my ads! I've made $5.72 so far.. It'll take a while to cash out, but it's nice to have that extra change adding up!

Sales Update 10/21-10/28

Hey everyone I'm back with another weekly sales update! Things have been SO slow for me lately! I can't believe it! It's the fourth quarter and I was expecting things to be booming! Hopefully it'll pick back up soon. I listed around 20 something items yesterday, so I'm going to finish listing the rest of my clothes, and then I'll start taking pictures of everything I have left!  (Shown in one of my last posts HERE.) I still have around 30-50 articles of clothing left to measure, and photograph. Along with over 200 items to photograph, measure, and list. I've got to get busy! I keep telling myself that I've got a GREAT winter stash, since there's no yardsales right now, but then I think that all of my stuff sitting there is just money that I'm not making.
I got a promotion a few days ago for 10,000 free listings, and usually that motivates me enough to get 100 things listed throughout the length of the promotion..  But this time they've excluded the 30-day buy it now period, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth doing it. I guess it is, but 10 days.. That's not long at all, and I NEVER pay for my listings. I always use my 150 free from my store subscription, and then I wait for a promotion.
Another problem I've ran into is the new/old automatic FREE relist. Everyone should see this box checked at the end of every listing, right before you click the final submission button.

This has been changed to relist automatically 1 time, instead of 3, for free now, but as I was reading one of eBay's updates, they're saying now that if this box is checked, you will be CHARGED when the item relists. Of course I called eBay to find out what was going on. The rep I talked to said that we will still get the one free relist. So we will see what happens on November 9th! If I start getting charged, I'll have to go into each and every one of my 400+ listings and uncheck that box.. It'll be such a hassle.

Enough of my ranting... And onto my weekly sales update! I'm actually on schedule this time!!

10/21-10/28
Number of items listed: 412
Number of items sold: 8 items
Amount sold: around $97 (not including shipping)

Very VERY slow week. My goal is to get up to selling around $400 a week. That would be IDEAL!

Here's what sold:

This orange Haegar pitcher was picked up by my grandma. It sold for $14.95 +shipping.

These two pairs of shoes were also my grandmas, they sold to the same person for a best offer of $15 +shipping.

I paid $3 for this L.L. Bean Hawaiian style shirt. It sold for a best offer of $12 +shipping.

This Aeropostale jacket was given to me by my aunt along with a lot of other clothes. It sold for $9.95 +shipping.

Here's another set of shower curtain hooks! I think mom picked these up for a dollar or two. They sold for $9.95 +shipping.

This was something my grandpa picked up at a yardsale for me to resell for him. He paid $1, and it sold for $19.95 +shipping.

Summer clothes are still selling! This dress sold for $14.95 +shipping.

Those are all 8 of my sales for the week! Not much at all, but I'm happy! It's definitely better than nothing!

I've been thinking about upgrading my store to the next level. I have the basic store right now with 150 free listings, and since they MAY be taking out the free auto relist, I will probably be needing the bigger store with 500 free relists. It's just an extra amount of money to spend.. $16 compared to $50. I'm making enough to cover the $50 amount, but I'm just not sure if I'll be able to use all 500 listings every month. It's definitely something I'm considering though. Let me know what store you have, if you have one. And how you're managing with the limited free listings we get every month! If you don't have a store, I'd love to hear how many listings you have on eBay and how you manage them.

Thanks for reading everyone! Have a GREAT week!
~Nandry

Oh! And before I forget!! I got approved for adsense!!! I've went through and tried to select the most appropriate ads for my blog, and I'm trying to post them as inconspicuously as possible so that they don't hinder your reading. They will always be at the end of every post!

What To Sell Wednesday 10/22 Halloween Edition

Hey everyone! Here's the Halloween edition of What to Sell Wednesday! These are just a few things I found on eBay that sold for some BIG bucks! Maybe you'll stumble across them at the goodwill one day!

Tico Toys/ Rosbro Orange Witch on White Motorcycle - 1950's

Pretty rare piece! But hey, you never know! Hopefully one of us will find a big $1,800 score like this!

This probably isn't something you'd find at a yardsale, but I thought it was pretty weird neat!

Couldn't you just see these in your own living room filled with all your horror novels?!

ALWAYS keep an eye out for vintage holiday decor. You never know what it'll be worth!

There's just a few highlights from the thousands of items that have sold! I hope you all are having a GREAT week of sales!
Thanks for reading! Be sure and comment about some of your Halloween sales below!

Sales Update 9/30-10/20

Hey everyone! I'm back with almost a months worth of sales! Ebay has been kinda slow for me lately. Maybe a few sales a day. Nothing like I'm wanting, but it's paying the bills!
Sorry I've been gone so long, I went on ANOTHER vacation last week to Edisto in South Carolina. It was beautiful. We all had a blast! But I can say I was glad to be home. I have so much work to do, and I'm ready to get it done!

Here's everything I have left to photograph and list:

Yikes! Probably 200 or so items... I need to get to work!

But anyways! On to my sales update!

Since my last post I've had 35 sales.
Total before fees: $463.20
I wish I was making that much per week!

Here's a few of the things I've sold:

I sold this Bucilla felt stocking kit for $22 +shipping.

This George robe sold for a best offer of $22 +shipping. I originally had it listed for $14.95 +shipping, and it had 10 watchers so I raised the price to $34.95 and what do ya know? A few hours later I got an offer! SOLD!

I finally sold this set of Williams Sonoma 12 days of Christmas mugs for a best offer of $40 +shipping.

'

I sold this Vera Bradley bag for $20 +free shipping.

I picked this Laurel Burch bag up at the Goodwill Outlet a while back, and it sold for $19.95 +shipping today.

There's just a few of my sales! I'm hoping once I start listing again, things will pick up! Thanks for reading everyone! Hope you're having a great week!

I've Been Gone A Whole Week! Catchin' Up on Sales 9/17-9/29

Hey everyone!! I'm back from my trip to Mackinac Island in Michigan!! I went last Sunday with a group of senior citizens from Tennessee. We had a BLAST! I took a whole week off from school, eBay, and blogging, but I'm glad to be back! It was absolutely beautiful up there! The weather was perfect and I got to spend my week with some of the best people.

I did not put my store on vacation the week I was gone. I left my parents in charge of all the questions and shipping. Boy was that something. I am a total control freak when it comes to my eBay business. I like to know how much money is being spent, where it's going, how it's being packaged.. It was super hard for me to go away knowing my business was in their hands. They managed it well though for the whole week! And of course, the week I am gone, I had more sales than I've had probably all month! I've decided I need to go on vacation a lot more...

I had a total of 26 sales since my last sales update!
I am super excited about that number! I wish I could get up to around 100+ a month, but I'm happy with the 50 monthly sales I'm getting now.

I picked up these infant John Deere boots from a girl on our Facebook yardsale site. Paid - $2 Sold for - $19.95 +free shipping

My mom picked this costume up for me a couple months ago. It's a homemade scarecrow costume and it cost $2. I wasn't sure how to list something homemade.. So I listed it for $19.95 +free shipping, and it sold within hours.. Maybe I priced it too low? Who knows.

Here's another costume! I bought this Transformers costume for $2 at a yardsale, only to come home and find out that it had two holes in it... I listed it cheap and it sold pretty fast for $9.95 +shipping.

I sold this Harley Davidson cap for $9.95 +free shipping. Paid $0.25

These Twinkle Toes were my sisters, they sold for $14.95 +shipping. Our mail carrier picked them up, then marked them delivered in Kentucky instead of Florida.. So of course I received a crazy message from an enraged buyer... Thank goodness I got that straightened out, and they left positive feedback as well!

I sold this KJV leather covered Bible for $19.95 +free shipping. Not sure what I paid for this. Probably $0.50?

Here's yet another costume! This Disney Tinkerbell costume was given to me from my grandma. It sold for $9.95 +shipping to Canada.

I sold this belt buckle for a friend, it sold for $19.95 +shipping to Italy!

Here's the rest of the things I sold these past 12 days (without pics!).

  • ACE Grade 3 Hardcover Book - $5 +shipping
  • 1 tube 340 Covergirl Naturelux Makeup - $7.95 +free shipping.
  • 3 tubes 340 Covergirl Naturelux Makeup -$23.85 + Free Shipping
  • 2 Tubes 335 Covergirl Naturelux Makeup - Best offer - $14 +Free Shipping
  • Lot of 12 Vintage Piano Sheet Music Books - $5 +shipping
  • Lotus Flower Wooden Abacus - Best offer $7 +shipping
  • Girls size 7 Denim Jacket - $9.95 + shipping
  • Mcoy mini glass jar - $5 +shipping
  • Wooden Box Coffee Grinder - $30 +free shipping
  • Two Diner Style Coffee Mugs - Best offer $10.50 +shipping
  • Womens Faded Glory Jeans - $7.95 +free shipping
  • GAP Size 0 Denim Skirt - $14.95 +free shipping
  • Girls Speechless Dress - $9.95 +free shipping
  • Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Table Decor $9.95 +shipping
  • Briggs New York Black Blazer - $19.95 +free shipping
  • Using the American Quarter Horse Book - $9.95 +shipping
  • Merona Orange Womens Skirt - $14.95 +shipping
Here's something else I sold... I received it back in the mail today, with a sticker attached saying undeliverable address.. I sent the buyer an email saying that I believe the address provided was wrong, and that I'd reship for $X.xx or refund her purchase less any shipping and fees... I hope I did the right thing with that situation! This dress sold for $9.95 +free shipping.

Also! If anyone one reading wouldn't mind.. Please check out my store and my listings HERE.. Let me know what I need to do to improve the quality! I'm really searching for pointers on taking pictures of and listing clothing. I also would like any tips on listing templates. I think they would be so handy to have and use, and also make my listings look so much more professional. I just can't figure out how to use them in my listings.

Thanks everyone for reading! I hope you've had a good few weeks as well!
