August Sales Update 2018

Hello, hello everyone! I just wanted to check in and let y'all know a few of my numbers from the month of August this far! Side note, I am officially starting nursing school on Monday, (100% paid for with scholarships this year, woo!) so I'm preparing for my numbers to plummet when I won't be able to work as much. Right now though, they aren't TOO bad. They aren't the best, but it is what it is!

So far I have sold 67 items for a grand total of $2044.30. That number of course is before shipping costs, fees, and cost of inventory, but my numbers are definitely growing compared to previous years! My profit each month after expenses for the past little while has been right around $1,500-$2,000 a month, so I can't complain! I have been able to add to our savings account tremendously with this extra cash and we are paying down our debt as quick as we can!

I hope you all are doing well and getting your inventory built up for Q4! It is right around the corner and I can't wait!!

Aww You Guys!!

Thank you all so much for commenting on my last post!! I have missed hearing from you all and it was so nice to know that I've been missed too! I really do miss blogging and talking to everyone, so I may just have to start back again!

Here's my to-do list for today:

  • List 35 new items. (That's my ENTIRE death pile!!) I had over 750 items in my store, but I cleaned out and sold some mystery boxes over on Poshmark, so now I'm down to 420 active listings. My sales have dropped drastically since I cleared out some stuff, so I am trying hard to get my listings up before school starts back in two weeks! I struggle big time with finding inventory, so it will be hard for me to increase my numbers without an outlet trip or two, so I'm working on making plans to go soon!

  • Return my couches to Kohl's. This has had me SO stressed out. I purchased a set of couches when they were on sale 3 months ago and they are absolutely falling apart! That was definitely my mistake when I thought Kohl's would have nice quality furniture... It's currently pouring the rain here, so they may not get to go back today, but I'm ready for them to go! Kohl's has a hassle-free returns program for those of you who don't know that! They will accept returns indefinitely as long as you have the receipt, even if the item is used!

  •  Go to Lowe's. We are building a privacy fence in my backyard to keep my dogs in (and to avoid staring into the neighbors yard, country girl here, not used to having neighbors!) We need to buy some more lumber to get the pickets up, but again, pouring the rain. May not get to work any.. :(

  • Inventory. I have been meaning to do this for MONTHS! For some reason eBay likes to accidentally delete some of my active listings and I have unlisted inventory packed away thinking it's up for sale! This drives me crazy! It takes a while to go through and do all this, but since my new system is alphabetized, maybe it won't take as long.

I hope you all are having a very productive day as well!! It seems like I'm doing a lot, but honestly, it's just a few things mixed with a lot of Netflix and eating!

Thanks for reading!

Has it Been a Over Year Already? - August 2018

Anyone still out there? Has it been so long that no one ever reads blogs anymore? I wasn't even sure Blogger still existed when I logged on this morning...

How has a year gone by since my last post?! I remember when I was posting daily and meeting so many awesome resellers along the way. Life really does get in the way of things.

As a little update, I have no idea if I will start blogging again or if I will stick to Instagram (find me @theteenthrifter,) like I have been doing. I miss the long posts where I can give details about every little sale and what's going on in my life. I feel like I can't achieve the same results on Instagram, but I absolutely love the community over there. Who knows, but today I'm in the mood to write a long post and see if any of my peeps are still out there reading this thing!

So let's begin with life. Skip over this part if you only want to see my sales growth since last year! I am in my 3rd year of college, completely paid for with scholarships, and I have recently changed my major to nursing with goals of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. School is about to become pretty intense, but I am so thankful that it is 100% paid for and I can use eBay as my stress reliever when things get tough. (Is that a sign of thrifting addiction?)

I am married, 7 months on July 30th, living in a beautiful house that my husband and I bought last August, (I think I mentioned that in my last post... a year ago...)

(My dress came from eBay. Gotta stick to my roots.)

When we bought our house we were able to put 20% down and place down hardwood floors throughout the entire house! We have goals to be debt free ASAP!

We also now have two wild animals dogs that we tolerate LOVE very much.

Our newest is Gracie, the Double Merle Australian Shepherd. She's special, that's for sure. Bella, the terrier/shih-tzu, isn't too sure about her just yet.

And for the part you've all been waiting for... the eBay stuff!!

I am able to pay 100% of our bills with my eBay income! My husband still works because eBay may not be forever, we are debt snowballing, and we love to travel and do all the extra things in life, but if anything ever happened, I know we would be able to sustain ourselves with eBay.

My sales for July 2018 totaled over $3,000. Of course after fees, shipping, and cost of goods, I only ended up with a profit of $1,700, but hey, that's all we need to pay the bills! That amount was achieved by putting in MAYBE 10-20 hours a week, if that. So I know if you worked at it full-time, 40+ hours a week, that number would soar!

I have definitely learned SO much since my last blog post. I have became more picky about what I buy and what I list it for. I also have a no death pile rule that is helping me tremendously!

Imagine if everyone sold on eBay solely as a part-time, fun money job. We could all go on beach vacations at least once a year with these numbers! There is no excuse not to sell on eBay and I think even after graduating college, I won't be able to stop. It becomes an addiction that I am sure most of y'all can relate to and there is nothing bad about having that extra stream of income in case anything ever happens.

That's it for my "I'm not dead" post! I am off to the TJ Maxx yellow tag clearance sale to see what I can find! If you are reading this blog post, please comment and let me know you're still here and how you're doing!

As always, thanks for reading!
