Sales Update 8/13-8/26

Hello my fellow thrifters!

I'm finally here with another sales update! Things this month have been SUPER busy! I've had over $1,100 in sales so far, with more coming in every day! I've been listing like crazy because I've received FOUR listing promotions this month!! I hope this month is as great for ya'll as it is for me!

Things around here have been super crazy because it's my senior year of high school! I am applying to colleges, getting transcripts sent out, and trying to enjoy my last year as a kid. It won't be long until I'm facing the adult world with stacks of bills and stress. So I'm trying to enjoy being 17; free from full on adulthood for a few more months..

But anyways! I'm sure most of you are here to see what I've sold the past 13 days or so! So here's some numbers!

Total number of sales: 37
Amount before fees: $817.59
Unreceived Payments: -$33.00

It's almost time for all those Halloween sales! This is the first one for me so far. This Vampire costume sold for $19.95 +shipping! It wasn't a big name brand either! I paid $1 for it at a yardsale.

I picked up this Harley Davidson shirt for $3 at a Goodwill and sold it for $22 +shipping. I actually sold the shirt twice. The first time it sold, the buyer messaged me asking me to ship to a different address. So I went through the eBay and Paypal protection spill, canceled their transaction, and sold it to them again under the right address! They were very nice about it too!

This was my English 102 textbook. I bought it on eBay for around $30-$40 last year. It sold for $50 +shipping.

This TI-83+ calculator has probably been my quickest sale to date! I picked this up at the Goodwill Outlet, cleaned it up, and tested it, and 5 minutes after listing, it sold for my full asking price of $50 +Free shipping!

These Disney frame tray puzzles also came from the Goodwill Outlet. They weighed around two pounds so I figured they cost me $1.58. They weren't selling individually so I lotted them up and accepted a best offer of $15 +shipping.

I found this Under Armour shirt at my favorite Goodwill for $3. It sold for $15 +shipping.

My grandma picked up this Pampered Chef egg slicer for me for $0.50 It sold pretty quick for $19.95 +free shipping.

I found these womens Justin boots at a yardsale for $1. Yes ONE DOLLAR! Can you believe that?? They sold for a best offer of $34.99 +shipping.

Here's another ONE DOLLAR yard sale find!! This boys Northface Jacket sold for $30 +shipping!

I've had this Justice cross body bag since probably last year.. I bought it at the Goodwill Outlet so it probably only cost me a dollar or so. It sold for $15 +shipping. It was odd how long it took to sell! It had 6 watchers on it constantly!

I picked these super Nintendo games up over the past few years and finally lotted them up to be sold! They sold for a best offer of $20 +shipping.

I picked up this RadioShack automatic dialer at my favorite Goodwill for a couple of bucks. It sold for a best offer of $30 +free shipping. It was brand new!

This lot of scrapbooking materials came from the Goodwill Outlet. They sold within a few days for $15 +shipping.

I've never really sold blazers or sports coats before, but a while back (probably 6 months ago) I picked up a few to try to flip! This Hugo Boss blazer sold for a best offer of $45 +shipping. The buyer loved the uniqueness of it!

Here's another quick flip from the Goodwill Outlet! This Build a Bear sold within hours for $20 +shipping!

(If you haven't noticed, I've been to the Goodwill Outlet recently..) These Tommy Hilfiger boots came from there as well! They sold within a few days for $20 +shipping.

Here's another pair of Goodwill Outlet boots! These Keen boots sold for a best offer of $22.50.

FINALLY here's my big sale! I picked up this BRAND NEW WITH THE TAGS Pendleton Western sports coat at my favorite Goodwill for FIVE DOLLARS! Yes! Only $5! (You can understand why this is my favorite Goodwill now!) It sold for a best offer of $130 +free shipping!

So! Like I said, this month has been GREAT! That is just 13 days of sales! For me, this is probably one of the biggest months that I've had! I hope the I can continue to grow my numbers so that when I move out, I can run my eBay while attending college. Then, I won't have to worry about having a part time job. We will see!

Thanks for reading everyone!!

  2. I've been selling a bunch too.

And LOL about the video games. Only 1 of them is Super Nintendo. All the rest are N64!

If you're worried about bills or anything, check out YNAB. They are free for college students. My wife and I wouldn't save as much money as we do without it. And I'm talking about really saving, not just the "saving" that you get by getting something on sale. :)

    1. Hey, I had N64 in the title of my listing LOL. We had the super Nintendo and the regular Nintendo when I was a kid. We LOVED to play super mario, zelda, and duck hunt!

I will definitely check that out! Thanks for the tip!

  3. Keen boots sell for much higher. I just sold a pair for $150 and another pair for $75. Don't sell yourself short.

    1. I just priced my pair based on the completed listings which were around $25, and since they had a brown paint splatter on the bottoms I went with what I was happy with.
I didn't know they sold for so much though! I'll keep an eye out for them!

  4. I'm 19 and also love thrifting! (garage sales n flea markets are my fav) It's seriously so fun to have unique things and such a great way to save money. I usually only shop for myself and family or friends, but you've turned it into something so much more! So awesome. Good for you to have the extra money, good for the people who are happy with what they're buying, and good for the environment cause recycling!!! This is something that I would also like to do some day although i'm not super familiar with re-selling websites like ebay. Anyways, I really enjoyed reading. Thanks for sharing!!

  5. Great post. I'm looking out for any TI-83/TI-84's I can get my hands on for resell.

Just a heads up on N64 games. I had one as a kid and there is a game called 'Conker's Bad Fur Day'. It is one of the most addicting games I ever played on the console. If anyone ever comes across this game its selling in the $80-$95 range on eBay!
