Sales Update 10/21-10/28

Hey everyone I'm back with another weekly sales update! Things have been SO slow for me lately! I can't believe it! It's the fourth quarter and I was expecting things to be booming! Hopefully it'll pick back up soon. I listed around 20 something items yesterday, so I'm going to finish listing the rest of my clothes, and then I'll start taking pictures of everything I have left!  (Shown in one of my last posts HERE.) I still have around 30-50 articles of clothing left to measure, and photograph. Along with over 200 items to photograph, measure, and list. I've got to get busy! I keep telling myself that I've got a GREAT winter stash, since there's no yardsales right now, but then I think that all of my stuff sitting there is just money that I'm not making.
I got a promotion a few days ago for 10,000 free listings, and usually that motivates me enough to get 100 things listed throughout the length of the promotion..  But this time they've excluded the 30-day buy it now period, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth doing it. I guess it is, but 10 days.. That's not long at all, and I NEVER pay for my listings. I always use my 150 free from my store subscription, and then I wait for a promotion.
Another problem I've ran into is the new/old automatic FREE relist. Everyone should see this box checked at the end of every listing, right before you click the final submission button.

This has been changed to relist automatically 1 time, instead of 3, for free now, but as I was reading one of eBay's updates, they're saying now that if this box is checked, you will be CHARGED when the item relists. Of course I called eBay to find out what was going on. The rep I talked to said that we will still get the one free relist. So we will see what happens on November 9th! If I start getting charged, I'll have to go into each and every one of my 400+ listings and uncheck that box.. It'll be such a hassle.

Enough of my ranting... And onto my weekly sales update! I'm actually on schedule this time!!

10/21-10/28
Number of items listed: 412
Number of items sold: 8 items
Amount sold: around $97 (not including shipping)

Very VERY slow week. My goal is to get up to selling around $400 a week. That would be IDEAL!

Here's what sold:

This orange Haegar pitcher was picked up by my grandma. It sold for $14.95 +shipping.

These two pairs of shoes were also my grandmas, they sold to the same person for a best offer of $15 +shipping.

I paid $3 for this L.L. Bean Hawaiian style shirt. It sold for a best offer of $12 +shipping.

This Aeropostale jacket was given to me by my aunt along with a lot of other clothes. It sold for $9.95 +shipping.

Here's another set of shower curtain hooks! I think mom picked these up for a dollar or two. They sold for $9.95 +shipping.

This was something my grandpa picked up at a yardsale for me to resell for him. He paid $1, and it sold for $19.95 +shipping.

Summer clothes are still selling! This dress sold for $14.95 +shipping.

Those are all 8 of my sales for the week! Not much at all, but I'm happy! It's definitely better than nothing!

I've been thinking about upgrading my store to the next level. I have the basic store right now with 150 free listings, and since they MAY be taking out the free auto relist, I will probably be needing the bigger store with 500 free relists. It's just an extra amount of money to spend.. $16 compared to $50. I'm making enough to cover the $50 amount, but I'm just not sure if I'll be able to use all 500 listings every month. It's definitely something I'm considering though. Let me know what store you have, if you have one. And how you're managing with the limited free listings we get every month! If you don't have a store, I'd love to hear how many listings you have on eBay and how you manage them.

Thanks for reading everyone! Have a GREAT week!

Oh! And before I forget!! I got approved for adsense!!! I've went through and tried to select the most appropriate ads for my blog, and I'm trying to post them as inconspicuously as possible so that they don't hinder your reading. They will always be at the end of every post!

School, Quick Question, and A Sales Update! 8/18-8/24

Hey everyone! I'm back! So much has been going on lately that I haven't been able to take a blogging break! High school and college have taken up most of my time this week, along with our church camp trip this weekend!

I'm taking English 101 and Psychology. Already in English we had to write 4 paper, short answer things, and take two quizzes. They were due last night. So that's why I'm a little late posting.. We went to camp Friday and came back Saturday evening, so I tried to get everything done at the last minute yesterday! I hope I got an A on my papers!

Sales have been BOOMING! I did list a few things last week, and took a million pictures, but I didn't get close to my goal. I'm going to try and use the rest of my free listings this week. There's no use in paying for my store subscription and150 free listings if I don't use them all!

This week (8/18-8/24) I sold a total of 15 items (I've had one sale today so far! But I'll mention that next week!)
Total sales amount (before fees and shipping costs): $205.75
I really wish I could get my weekly sales up to about $500 a week. Maybe eventually when I start getting higher priced items.. Most of my sales were around $10.
NO RETURNS
All positive feedback!
No international sales! (Until today! lol)

Here's a few of the things I sold this week!

I sold this Ralph Ralph Lauren pink button up shirt for $19.95 +free shipping. I paid $0.50 for it! I wish I could find Ralph Lauren every weekend for that price!!

I sold this GAP backpack that we picked up at the Goodwill Outlet for $24.95 +shipping.

I sold this Zondervan hard cover Bible for $19.95 +free shipping. I can't remember what I paid for this one.. I ALWAYS pick up Bibles. They are super consistent sellers!

Here's another one of my constant pickups! Shower curtain hooks! Our Goodwill sells these for $1-$2 a set. They're an easy $10-$20 profit! This new set sold for $9.95 +shipping.

Mom bought some homeschooling books on eBay a few years ago, and this lot was left over. They sold for $14.95 +free shipping.

I picked this denim skirt up, along with a bunch of others for $3 each. This one sold for $19.95 +free shipping.

Quick question for all you eBayers out there. Have you all noticed an increase in buyers with ZERO feedback??? Like they've been members for years, and have NO feedback at all?? Over half my buyers are like that.. Makes me wonder..

But that's all for me guys!!
Hope your week is starting out great!! I'll be back soon with another quick post! My boyfriend drives by a Goodwill every day when he goes to college, so I'll be posting his hauls soon!
Thanks for reading!!

Amazon FBA Program Do YOU use it?

Hey everyone!
I was going to go to walmart and a few other places tomorrow, and I was thinking about signing up for the Amazon FBA program. I've read a lot of good things about it, and it seems to be pretty much hassle free. (Besides all the label printing, and shipping). Do any of you use the Amazon FBA program? Please post in the comments or contact me directly if you do!

A few of my questions would be:
  • Where do you source your items?
  • What items do you seem to sell the most of?
  • How are the items priced on Amazon?
  • What do you need to get started?
  • Do the fees make it worth it?
Thanks for reading the post everyone! Hope ya'll are having a GREAT week!

Have you ever been on the Worlds Longest Yard Sale?

Hey everyone! Have any of YOU ever been on the 127 sale? It is the worlds longest yard sale extending from Michigan to Alabama! 690 Miles! The sale starts on the first Thursday in August through Saturday! I live right next to highway 127, so I always make it a priority to go every year! I don't travel the full 690 miles, but I try and cover as much ground as possible! I always find tons of treasures. The sellers have everything from clothing to vintage furniture, to toys, to everything else you can imagine finding!

This year, I'm going to be setting up in Tennessee with a dear friend. She sets up every year, and has been for as long as I can remember!

I was wondering if any of you had ever been on this yard sale? I'd love to hear if you have and some of your awesome finds!
You can read more about this upcoming sale HERE.

Thanks for reading everyone! Hope you're having a good week!

EBay New 3 Month Automatic Relisting Feature

Hey guys! So I've been doing ALOT of research lately about this new automatic relisting feature, and I think I have it figured out. Every time I list an item, on the last page it always has a PRE CHECKED box that says "Automatically relist your item up to 3 times for FREE". I was VERY skeptical about using this. I don't pay insertion fees, I just use my monthly free 150 listings. So I was afraid that this feature would take my free listings every month and then charge me $0.30 per listing that goes over the 150.
After much research I've discovered that it does not use ANY additional free insertions after the initial insertion fee, (which is free if you haven't used yours up yet) or charge insertion fees. So potentially, I can list 150 items for FREE, and they will be listed on eBay for a total of 4 months (initial month listed, plus 3 more months free) without using any more of my free listings each month or charging me. I've been testing this out, and every time one of my items relist, it doesn't use a free listing or charge me! Yay! So this means I can list 150 the first month for free, then next month those 150 (if none sold) will relist without using any of the new free listings, giving me an additional 150 free listings to use for a total of 300 listings.. So by the fourth month, when the first set of listings relist for the final time, I will have a total of 600 items listed for FREE!
I guess eBay is wanting to push people to list more. Let me know your opinion on this new feature, and your experience! Thanks for reading!
