Sales Update 6/3-6/16

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't post anything last week. EBay has for some reason come to an almost complete stop for me. I'm assuming that since it's summer and I've not been listing regularly people just aren't buying from my store!

This past week I got to have my senior pictures taken! My cousin Carrie is an AH-MAZING photographer, so she took all of my pictures. I can honestly say I'm in love with them! Here's some of the pictures from last week!

She has a blog if you'd like to check it out and she also has Twitter and Facebook.
Here's the links to her sites:

Another reason I've been slow to post on the blog this week is because I've been studying for the ACT. The test was Saturday (the 13th) so since that's over, I plan on spending ALL week listing my inventory. My goal is to get EVERYTHING that is sitting unlisted, listed this week. I have around 100 items or so that are unlisted and it's really taking up a lot of space. So today I took over 200 pictures of the massive jean pile that I talked about last week. I'm going to start listing them on eBay as soon as we get supper cooked and I can start working!

Anyways! Here's my numbers for the past two weeks!

Total number of items sold: 12
Amount of sales before fees: $266.35

These two Rainbow Brite glasses sold at auction for $20 +shipping. My aunt found these at Goodwill for $0.99 each.

I sold these boots on consignment. They sold for $39.95 +shipping to Australia.

I think I picked this up for $2 at a yardsale. It sold for $25 +shipping.

Cross stitch kits will sell even if they are started! This one sold within 5 minutes of listing for $15 +shipping.

This Genco straight razor sharpener was found in the same box of free stuff as the garage door openers. It sold at auction for $20.50. It only had two bids but it had around 12 watchers. This is why I don't like auctions..

I picked up this silver Panasonic flip clock for $2. It sold for $29.95 +shipping.

Here's another vintage cap! It sold for $9.95 +shipping.

I also had one sale on Poshmark!! It was a skirt that sold for a best offer of $20 (It was listed on eBay for $25). After fees on poshmark I will receive a profit of $16. IF the skirt had sold on eBay for full price, my profit would have been around $18 or so if I offered free shipping. So I'm happy with my profit margin on Poshmark for sure.

That's all for me this week! I hope eBay hasn't been as slow for you as it has been for me!

  1. You look absolutely adorable in your senior pictures!

I also dislike auction. I love BIN. I always get a price I'm happy with

    1. Thank you!
And yes for sure! I didn't know what to price the razor sharpener for though, so I figured I'd let it run at auction.. Oh well! Live and learn!

  2. Is that a tractor you're on in the first photo? That's a great shot. I also like the one of you on the mossy log. The photographer had it easy because you're such a lovely subject. :-)
I found myself looking at caps today in a thrift store because of you. I didn't see anything worth buying though. Unless they are absolutely clean or look like new, I won't buy hats or caps. Same goes for shoes. Great find on the flip clock. I haven't found one yet.

    1. It is! I'm a born and raised country girl so I figured the tractor would be perfect to use as a prop! I'm glad you liked my pictures! :) I thought they turned out wonderful!
I truly have never bought a cap at the thrift because I feel like they're way more expensive than they would be at a typical yardsale where I only pay a quarter or so for them. Some people have found some gold mines in the cap section though, so I reckon it's always a good place to look!
That was the second flip clock I'd found! That one has a kind of strange story behind it though. Me and my boyfriend were out yardsaling and I saw two flip clocks, one was like the last one I sold and then there was this one. Well this one had a price sticker of $7 on it and the other one had a sticker of $2 on it. So I asked the guy if he'd test the $2 one for me, because I didn't see a very good ROI on the $7 one, so he tested it, and it didn't work. So I told him I didn't want it. He told me he had another one that definitely did work, (the $7 one), and he said I probably liked the other one more because it was $2. So he said I could have the $7 one for $2 (without me even asking him to go down on the price!) then he proceeded to tell me about some movie that the clock was in! It was a definite first for me at a yardsale. LOL

  3. Love the photo of you on the Massey! My niece is 16 and is trying so hard to find a job. I keep telling her to try eBay. I would provide her with inventory - I have tons of it. I'm going to send her a link to your blog because I know you will inspire her!

    1. Thank you! EBay was definitely the best choice for me! I was desperately wanting a job at a very young age, and no one where I live would hire anyone under 16, so this is where I turned and I've not stopped! I love it! I hope she gets her business going like I have and makes a million!

  4. Your pics looks really nice. I never thought to take pics like this when I was graduating. Your sales are still pretty good considering it's summer.

  5. Your pictures are adorable! As far as sales being slow, you're not the only one. I call it the summer slump. Things should pick up closer to time for kids to head back to school.
