Update!

Hey everyone. So I'm back (finally) with a short little eBay and life update! 

College is now only 6 weeks away! I was so very excited about it, until today... but, more on that later! 

EBay has been OK. Sales are slow since it's summer, but they're still trickling in. I actually just ran a 40% off sale, with no luck. It was crazy actually. Sales were terrible even at their low prices!! So I've decided to only run 15% off and accept most best offers.  

June profits ended up around $700, which I'm happy about, but it's no where near the $2,000 that I'd like to be at. I had $300 in expenses last month, so that really hurt me. 

On the Fourth of July I went with my family and spent the day at the goodwill outlet! I bought around 107 pounds of goodies for $90. This got me over 120 pieces of clothes, hangers, 10 or so purses and bags, and 8 pairs of shoes. Here's some pics. 

Now, onto the life part. Back a couple weeks ago, I had my college orientation. I was told to go and meet with someone in the financial aid office to discuss a matter on my account. I was told that one of my scholarships (the big one!!) was removed from my account because I'm a Kentucky resident and I'm attending a school in Tennessee. The lady then told me I should receive the money back because I graduated from a home school program in Tennessee. 

Fast forward to today. After emailing and calling the lady a few times this week, she finally got back to me today. I was told that I would not be receiving my scholarship back and that being homeschooled has really hurt me. So to say the least, I'm furious. This is the SECOND scholarship that they've taken away from me and also, homeschooling has been the absolute best thing that's ever happened to me. My college was 100% paid for, but now I'm going to have to take out student loans.. Joy... 

So that's what's going on with me.. Nothing too exciting. Hopefully I'll be back soon with a more cheerful post.

Sales Update June 1st-June 12th

Hello hello everyone! I have finally sat down to type up a sales update for the month of June! I'm so excited to share my numbers with y'all! Sales have been pretty great (except for the last few days!) and I've been listing more than ever! 

I had college orientation Thursday and Friday, then Saturday, I went out with my boyfriend on a much needed date! I always take off on Sundays, so I'm back at it today! My sales are WAY down since I didn't get to work on Thursday or Friday, but I plan to make up for it this week! 

I have also taken a BIG step and upgraded my store the Premium level! It's a big jump from $20 a month to $60, but my sales have been phenomenal! It's been so much better than waiting on a promo every month!  

My goal right now is $500 a week, but I'm about $300 short of that! I still have until tomorrow night though! Fingers crossed!! 

I'm going to try to get back up to 700 listings by tonight, but it seems like every time I hit that number, it falls below almost immediately! I guess that's a good problem to have!!

This Vera Bradley vintage button up FINALLY sold after about a year or more of being listed for a best offer of $25 +shipping! I can usually tell what items have been listed the longest, because they have my original "Terms" on them! I also had no idea VB made clothing! 

I always always pick up Clarks when I see them! (As long as their $3 or less!) They sold for $25 +free shipping.  

A couple weeks ago I bought a Nintendo 64 lot for $50. I've been selling off the games I don't like to play, and then obsessively playing the ones I love! The Chameleon game sold for $9.95 +shipping and the Diddy Kong Racing game sold for $14.41 +free shipping.

Laura Ashley is a GREAT vintage brand to pick up! This dress sold for $39.95 +free shipping. 

These two Breli Originals dresses sold to the same lady for a total of $31.50. They came from a $5 bag sale.  

Here's a brand to talk about! Ann Taylor LOFT. A TON of people tell me that they never even look twice at this brand, that it's all cheap low dollar stuff. But I like $20! This shirt was listed for $20 and I took a best offer of $16.96! After shipping and fees, I ended up profiting $12.04. That is so worth it to me! It's a very abundant brand that you can find practically every where for super cheap!  

ALWAYS buy garage door openers!! This one was brand new in the package from 1994 and it sold for $14.41! I have sold MANY used ones for WAY more than that! 

This basic Universal dress cost me $0.50 at a sale, and it sold for a best offer of $14 +free shipping. 

Puzzles! I LOVE them! This one was opened, but it still sold for $29.95 +free shipping. I ended up profiting $23.34 on it. I always put in the listing that the pieces are uncounted, so it is unknown if it is complete or not. They always sell! 

This Brooks Brothers skirt came from that bag sale as well. It sold for $29.00 - profit = $19.35.

This denim dress was too cute to pass up! It wasn't a big brand or anything but it sold quickly! $16 leaving me with a profit of $10.30.

Eileen Fisher is also a great brand to buy! This piece cost me $2 and it sold for a best offer of $26 F/S leaving me with a profit of $19.01

Another brand I'm always on the lookout for is CAbi! This skirt sold for $15 F/S (cost me $3.25) leaving me with a profit of $10.32.

These BORN clogs sold for $24.80 leaving me with a profit of $15.65.

These Sofft sandals sold for $35 F/S. They were given to me by a friend, so all profit! 

If you've been passing on Baby Alive dolls, you're missing out on lots of money! This doll sold for a best offer of $50! I also have one listed for $120! Lots of money to be made with these! 

This White House Black Market top came from the Goodwill Outlet and sold for $15 with free shipping. 

This swim coverup sold almost immediately after I listed it! Paid $0.50 and sold for $16! 

I was really hesitant about buying this monogrammed purse, but it sold super quick after listing it for $19.95 with F/S. 

These GAP academy blazers are definitely a BOLO! They sell from $25+! This one sold for $27 via best offer. It is super cute! I hope the new buyer loves it as much as I did! 

This is the first time I'd ever found a Dooney and Bourke purse! It was only ONE DOLLAR! It sold within minutes for $22.95! 

So that's all for my sales! I need to get back to listing! I have about 8 more drafts to complete, then I'll be ready to do some research, pics, and measurements, for tomorrows listing!

The Next Adventure

This is a somewhat different post, so if you're not so hot about hearing my personal life stories, this post is not for you! 

Last night I graduated highschool (with honors!!!!) I was 10th in my class with an ACT score of 28, so I can't even imagine the scores of the 9 geniuses in front of me! 

It has been such a journey for me and I'm just amazed at how far I've come and how my life has worked out. Things haven't always been perfect, but now that I look back on my life, I wouldn't change a thing. I have definitely been blessed. 

Being homeschooled for the past 6 years was probably the hardest challenge l've had to face. The transition from public school to being at home was a big change for me, but because of my great parents, I've been able to accomplish so much. They've put up with me when most people would've given up on me, and for that, I'm so very thankful. I'm proud to say that I have the best parents in the world! Just one look at their eBay-filled basement and you'd understand. 

My blog has had over 100,000 views, my eBay sales are through the roof and growing, I'm selling on two other venues and I've been interviewed personally by EBay! What more could I ask for! My journey has been so great and I can't wait to see what's in store for me next! 

College life will definitely be a big change, but I can do it. My orientation is coming up in a few weeks and I cannot wait! I truly hope I can continue to blog and sell on eBay throughout the next 6 years of school. It would be strange without it that's for sure! 

I want to say a big thanks to all of you for taking the time to read my blog and give me all this love, support, and encouragement. You guys are so great!

May Sales Update

Hey everyone! I know my updates are becoming scarce, but I thought I would pop in to let you know how horrible my sales are this month and the reason why! 

So things around here have been pretty chaotic with graduation coming up in a week and cleaning and preparing for my big move this fall, so I've not really had the chance to list or source like I want to. I might have 20 items that need to be worked up and listed, but that's just not enough to motivate me. I usually need a good Goodwill Outlet trip to get me back in the 20 listings a day mood! 

Other things have been keeping me busy too, such as my interview with The Scavenger Life! So stay tuned for that! It's not posted yet, but it should be shortly! 

Also, on some other news, just a few days ago I was contacted by a lady from eBay and they have asked to do a story on me on their blog! Woohoo! So she called me Thursday and we got the initial interview out of the way and now they're just waiting on some pics of me and my eBay business. The blog should be posted sometime around the last week of May, so be watching for that to be posted HERE! 

But anyways! Back to the numbers and reason why they're non-existent.. 
So I've dropped down to about 200 items in my store. I had been holding off for a promotion but I haven't gotten one in two months. I've not listed anything new except for maybe 5 things (all auctions). This is why I've only had 12 sales this month totaling a little over $300. I decided that with college going on and the low numbers, that I would transfer some listings to auction and try and clean out. So 111 old listings went to $7.95 +$5 shipping auctions. So far only 7 items have bids totaling a whopping $75. They end some time tonight, but as of now, I still hate auctions.. I decided that since I haven't been listing anything new this month and a promo doesn't seem very likely, I would relist 200 old items to get my numbers back up and hopefully get some sales. I currently have over 400 active (111 end tonight) and I still have 49 of my free monthly listings to use. I'm still hoping for a promo (maybe someone will take me to the outlet when I get one ;) ) so that I can get back into my listing groove. 

I've also been testing out a new to me platform called Mercari. It seems like a mix of eBay and Poshmark and right now I'm LOVING it! No listing fees, no sale fees, no shipping fees, no listings to relist every month... It is pretty great! I've already had one sale, so after I see that all of that goes well, I'll have to do a post and let you all join with me on this awesome new app! 

But anyways! I hope y'all are having better sales than I am and have a lot more motivation to get things done!

Quick Update!

Hey everyone! So I know I've been MIA a lot lately, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here! Things right now are SUPER busy! Graduation is right around the corner, so I'm preparing for that and I'm also getting ready for full-time college this fall. I'm really excited about what the future holds for me in that area of my life. I cannot wait to get started! 

EBay has been booming. I couldn't be any happier with my sales lately. I keep telling myself that I won't be able to work as much when the college life starts up, so I'm trying to work my butt off now so I don't have to work as hard then. The PT program is pretty intense, so I worry about having the time to do anything eBay related, but it'll all work out I'm sure. 

Just so y'all know, I'm a total nerd. I absolutely love writing papers and studying. If I didn't get stressed out so easily, I would love it that much more! :D 

So! Back to eBay! In March my sales hit an all time high! I was $43 and change away from hitting $2,000. This month, I've already sold around $650! My goal is $500 a week, so I'm getting there! 

The last time I went thrifting, was on March 31st-April 1st. My family drove up to Ferdinand, Indiana again for our yearly yardsaling adventure! I really didn't buy that much. I spent around $100-$200. I should make atleast $600 or so from that haul. (I LOVE Yardsales, but I love the bins more ;) The profit margin is higher. )

If you look closely, you can see the coveted Baby Alive doll that is worth around $250! My little sister found it, so we have to split the profit, but hey! It only cost $1!

In other news, I've been selling something so crazy that you probably won't believe it. Anyone want to take a guess? I've been selling ROCKS! Yes. You heard right. Rocks. I started last week and have already made $60. On rocks. More on that new chapter later! ;) 

Hmmmm... I can't think of anything else to update y'all on.. Hopefully I've covered it all! I'll try to get posting regularly again, but don't hold me to that. LOL! Thanks for putting up with me, everyone! I really appreciate all the comments and support. :)
