Using Social Media to Promote Sales

Hey everyone! I'm back a day early, by request, to share a few tips on promoting your listings via social media.

I use social media to promote ALL of my listings. This instantly gets you 20-30 more views, and most of the time, it leads to more sales.

I use two sites to promote my listings. Twitter and Pinterest.

Okay, first thing's first. If you don't have a Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest account, you need to create one!
Register for Twitter HERE!
Register for Pinterest HERE!
Register for Facebook HERE!

I do NOT suggest using your own personal account for promoting your eBay business. Make a new account just for eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Bonanza, or whatever other selling platform you use. This helps customers find you and follow your active items, instead of seeing the pictures of your cat and your grandma's 80th birthday party!

After registering, find some people with common interests to follow. They will more than likely follow you back and help you gain even more followers.

Then, we need to find an active listing. Pick something from your active listings page that has a small amount of watchers/views.

After you click on it, your listing should come up, and you will see, on the right hand side the 4 share buttons. You can choose between: email, Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.

You now have to decide which platform you want to share this listing on first. I am going to pick Twitter, because it seems to get the most traffic to my listing.

After clicking the blue Twitter button, a page like this should pop up.

All of the keywords in the title along with the link to your listing will show up. This is all fine and dandy, but to get the most exposure and more traffic to your listing, you're going to have to insert some hashtags. For those of you who are like me and are not very tech savvy (yet)!  This is a hashtag ---> # .
The hashtag will make each keyword that you put it in front of searchable via Twitter. In this listing I will add the hashtag to the words: #FifaWorldCup, #Soccer, and #snapback. Sometimes eBay will go ahead and add a few hashtags for you, like it did for me above for #Germany.

After adding all your hashtags, click the blue Tweet button. Your tweet will then be viewable to millions of people, and the views on your eBay listing will increase almost instantly!

You can use the same process for Facebook or Pinterest. I find that Pinterest takes a long time to drive traffic to my listings. So I prefer Twitter, but I am slowly building my Pinterest fan base. I have yet to branch out to Facebook, but I am looking into it!

I hope this how-to post has helped you, and if you already knew all this  information, thanks for reading anyways! If you have anything to add, please feel free to email me via the contact form on the right side of the page, or comment below!
Also, if you have any questions, you can email me or post below as well.

Winter Storm and Sales Update 2/11 - 2/19

I hope you all are staying warm and toasty this week! We've been hit by the winter storm Octavia, and have the most snow that we've probably had in a very long time! We have layers of snow and ice adding up to around 8 inches! College has been cancelled all week, so me, my laptop, and my two house dogs have been bundled up on the couch enjoying Netflix and some occasional eBay listing.

We didn't get to go to the estate auction on Valentine's day last Saturday because of the cold and snow.. My friends up north told us it wasn't a good auction anyways. Oh well. Instead! Our Valentine's Day was spent at home eating pizza and watching movies, anticipating this snowstorm.

My mom's not been to work any this week (until today), so she's been my photographer the past few days. I had over 50 ties and some other items that needed pictures taken, and she got it all done! Needless to say, I'm now very much behind on my listing.

I have listed around 20 items this week, bringing my total to 416 active listings.
Since my last post, I've sold 10 items, totaling around $166 this week before fees. Still not hardly the amount I want, but then again, I'm not constantly listing, sourcing, and I don't have +a lot of high dollar items. Most of my items range from $5-$30. I'm working on that though.

Here's the highlights of this weeks sales:

I am STILL selling Hallmark ornaments!  I probably have around 20-30 left to sell. This miniature ornament (around the size of my thumb) sold for 14.95 +free shipping. I think each ornament cost me an average of $0.64.

Microwave plates are consistent sellers for me. I pick them up for around $1-$2 and this one sold for $16.33 +shipping.

I thought this was the CUTEST set of shower hooks! I picked them up for $1, broke two of them, then sold the set of 10 for a best offer of $11 +shipping.

This purse is trouble waiting to happen...
I picked this Mossy Oak bag up at the Goodwill Outlet. The day I listed it, it sold within a few hours. Once it sold, I then realized the zipper was broken off inside the bag... I took a picture of the broken zipper but I didn't put that in the description... I have messaged the buyer THREE times with no response.. I shipped the bag today, and we will see how long it takes for them to open a case..  Sold for $20 +shipping.

This lot of brand new scrap booking paper was picked up at the Goodwill Outlet as well! I paid around $4 (I think) It was $0.59/pound. Sold at auction for $51 +shipping! Who knew??

I picked this stein up last summer for $1. It finally sold after being posted on Twitter for $18 +shipping.

(I am a STRONG believer in promoting your listings via social media! The last three things I've sold were tweeted prior to selling! Follow me on Twitter HERE and on pinterest HERE)

That's it for me this week! I hope you all are staying warm!
Thanks for reading!

Since I've not posted an Adsense update in a while, here it is!
I'm up to $33.76. I'm slowly making progress! Thanks to everyone who has helped me get that much!

Lucky in Love Pyrex and Valentine's Day Plans

We all hope that one day we will find something at a junk sale and make a million. At least I know I want that to happen! Here's an auction that is currently active on eBay. It has two days left. The bid was started out at $39.99. So I'm thinking this person didn't know what they had. Here's the link to check out the auction! CLICK HERE.

I personally think this pattern is super cute! I read somewhere that this pattern was a proto-type and never was released for sale.

This weekend is Valentine's Day! Of course, my Valentine's Day will be spent with my boyfriend and family at an absolute estate auction sourcing for eBay! The perfect date! What about you all? Will you be thrifting this Valentine's Day??

Sales Update 2/3-2/10

I'm back again with yet another sales update! Seems like that is all I've been posting lately.. I'll try and finish up my BOLO list sometime this week or next.
I hope you all are having a GREAT sales week! My week is going pretty well. I've had a total of 8 sales this week for a total amount of $128 before fees. Nothing major, but since I've not listed anything in a few weeks, I'm happy with that amount.
My new goal is to list at least 5 things a day. I spent tonight looking up all my unlisted inventory, and I figured up that I had $1,200 sitting on my shelf, not counting the clothes! So I've got to get to listing!

Here's what I sold!

2 tubes of 315 Covergirl Makeup - $7.95 each
Mickey Mouse Hallmark ornament - $7 +shipping

My mom picked this ornament up for $1. I sold it for a best offer of $6 +shipping to Hungary

I thought about keeping this cake pan for my dad's 50th birthday this year, but instead sold it for $10 +free shipping.

My aunt picked this digital photo frame up for $4 at Goodwill, it sold for $20 +shipping to Canada.

This is another of me and Derek's finds. We picked this textbook up for a quarter, and it sold for $20 +shipping.

Mom picked this needlework kit up at the Goodwill for $2. It finally sold for a best offer of $30 +Shipping.

That's it for my sales this week! Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

January End of the Month Sales Update and a Website Review

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm a little late with my blogging. College has been keeping me super busy! My January profits weren't as much as I was hoping for, but they were better than previous months sales.
This month I profited almost $500. The past few months have only been $200-$300 profit a month. So I was happy with that amount. My goal for this year is to FINALLY have a $1,000 profit month. I'm working on it slowly but surely.
I have over 400 items listed on eBay right now.
Here's a few things I sold last week to get you caught up. If you'd like to see everything I've sold check it out HERE.

I had TONS of sales the last week of January. Here's some of the highlights!

I picked up these North Face pants at my favorite Goodwill for $3. I sold them for a best offer of $30 +shipping.

I think this came in a lot of clothes I bought from a lady in my Facebook yardsale group. It sold for $14.95 +shipping.

Mom picked this cross stitch kit up for me for $4. It sold for a best offer of $18 +shipping.

This was my sisters. She loves to beat me to things at yardsales because she knows if she buys it mom will make me sell it for her on eBay. Which is fine. I know she needs money too! She paid $2 for this latch hook kit, and it sold for $24.95 +shipping.

I picked this Bible up in Michigan for $0.50. It sold for $19.95 +shipping.

This shirt came from a yardsale last fall. I paid $1 for it and it sold for $39.95 +free shipping.

I ALWAYS pick up Vera Bradley if it's cheap. This purse was $3, and it sold for $19.95 +shipping to Canada.

I picked up this L.L. Bean blazer at my favorite Goodwill a few weeks ago. I paid $5 for it, and it sold for a best offer of $28 +shipping.

My grandpa gave me these Florsheim made in Italy shoes. They sold for $19.95 +shipping.

I sold one of my college textbooks that I bought off of the Facebook yardsale. I paid $20 for it, and sold it for $25 +shipping.

That's my sales from the last week in January! They were pretty great!

                               Website Review/EBay Haul

I've not bought much to resell lately, but 2 weeks ago, a site called ThredUp hosted a 99 cent sale on their website. They had jeans, shirts, dresses, shoes, and everything else for 99 cents! ALL NAME BRANDS!!!
I had a $30 credit from the site for some referrals from months gone by, so I ended up ordering 52 pieces of clothing (mainly jeans) for $20 shipped! I just got the order yesterday, and boy was I IMPRESSED! I got brands like Banana Republic, Lucky Brand, GAP, and more! All for $0.40 per piece! I ordered everything in my size, and ended up keeping 22 pieces for myself, so I now have 30 pieces to resell! I am going to make some SERIOUS cash on this stuff! I'll be watching for another AWESOME sale like this, and I'll be sure and post if they do! Here is my referral link if you'd like to sign up! CLICK HERE I'd appreciate it! Also, feel free to share your referral link in the comments.

Thanks for reading everyone! Have a great rest of the week!! :)
